Born Motivator

I have been doing what I do best all my life with family and friends; counselling and just uplifting their inner souls.

They would call me at night no matter what time to discuss matters that were so deep. They felt a trust that I cannot explain. Better still I would meet people on buses when I use to work in the corporate world and they would share inner thoughts, trials and pain, they also needed a trusting ear to confined in. If that is not a calling to your life I don't know what is.

Not realizing it at the time but I was being prepared for my business, Kimberlite Enterprises.

I started off as an image consultant teaching clients how to dress, then one day someone heard me speak and invited me to give a talk at their conference. Which I did, however back then silly me didn't realize that I should have charged money. DAH!! I was their keynote speaker and later found out there was a fee associated to that title. More requests started to flow in and my name got out there. I had been discovered, I became known as "Joy Foster -The Motivator"; I have even been called 'the bomb'.

I sing too, which I have always done with my Daddy when he was alive, playing his reggae songs and cooking West Indian food. I love to motivate my audience with the powerful, inspirational voice I am blessed to have. Let me tell you with my presentations backed up with my songs "WATCH OUT!! You become your own BOMB!!

You see I am a humble young lady and tell it just like it is. No candy coating just the raw truth with empathy, honesty and integrity associated with each presentation I deliver.

Unique, clear, straight to the point and definitely no beating around the bush. When you ask me a question I tell you what you need to hear so be prepared for the reply.

I am not looking to be liked; more importantly I want to inspire individuals to step up to the plate, take responsibility for what they want to do and stop making excuses every time which delays their life mission.

Women, I find would rather talk till the cows come home instead of turning that energy into something positive. I have been told that I am blunt and straight forward but never rude with my delivery. Being compassionate with my audience and delivering sound, heart felt advice lets my listeners know I am here for them not myself.

My parents had lots of issues within their marriage and could communicate only through shouting, yelling and getting angry. Now this did not create a great home life for us kids but looking back I could now see my strengths being created in me.

I knew that when my Daddy would appear outside my office building all dressed up and boy could he dress he was there to talk to me about his concerns with Mom. We spoke in confidence. I gave him sound advice and always the truth which sometimes would hurt him but he knew I loved him. So you can see that I was a born motivator even back then.

Yes, it gets a little exhausting sometimes; so then I step back for awhile go into seclusion replenish my inner strength, refuel and gets going again. Occasionally the friendships I make go wrong. When I'm being so honest people cannot always except the truth and close me off but I have come to learn that they are hurting themselves by withholding the start button for their own lives. I wish people could see what I see within them; winners, conquers and successors. Being a motivational speaker you have to not be too close to your audience. I have come to know this so my families are my closest confidants and one very dear friend, they know who they are.

Writing this article and its Father's Day, I miss my Daddy very much he was a winner in my eyes, a man of dignity and strength. He taught me to always be proud of who you are and never let anyone make you feel any less in society because you have a gift to share to the world.

So here I am the BORN MOTIVATOR to inspire, motivate all who come within my arena.
